Your child and the Albany United Methodist Preschool
For more than thirty years the Albany United Methodist Church has offered a preschool program because the church members believe a preschool experience is an important aspect of the emotional and social development of the preschool age child.
Our 4 and 5 year olds are called Pre-K’s. Our 3 and 4 years olds are called Wee Ones. Our preschool abides by the same cut-off dates used by all public schools in Indiana - August 1st. A child entering Pre-K class must be 4 years old and a child entering the Wee Ones class must be 3 years old by August 1st of the current school year.
Pre-K classes meet on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Class size is limited to eighteen in each. Wee Ones meet on Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This class is limited to fifteen.
Tuition for the Pre-K class is $50.00 a month with a $40.00 one time per year non-refundable supply fee. Tuition for the Wee Ones is $40.00 a month with a $30.00 one time per year non-refundable supply fee. Your first tuition payment is due on the first day of school. This payment will cover August and May. After school starts, payments will be due the first day of each month, September through April.
Applications for current students will have priority until April 5, 2010. After that date the classes will be filled on a first-come, first served basis. If your application is received after the classes are full, your child’s name will be placed on our waiting list and the supply fee will be returned to you. If an opening occurs during the year, you will be notified at that time and your supply fee will need to be re-submitted with any additional information or corrections to previous application.
School will begin August 19th for Wee Ones and August 23rd for Pre-K classes. At that time you will have a chance to meet our teachers, see the facilities, and receive our preschool handbook/ calendar for the school year. We want to get acquainted with you and answer any questions you may have.
